Probably both. Seems likely to me that the server had some serious DNS routing problems a couple of months ago and it was eventually fixed but changed "routes" so everyone local DNS cache still has those pointers listed so you can all fix it by "flushing" or reloading your local dns cache.
I honestly just had assumed that they finally had enough and shut the site down. I really couldn't blame them if they did. I have been so busy with other things in life, It has been kind of sad seeing the slow decline of this site from its heyday. I do think it could be big again with a little TLC.
I personally think Paul and Jason won't fix this site up. They'll probably just leave it as is, until they feel like tearing it down to do something new with it.

Looks like the thread with malware has disappeared?
I note that the site has javascript from falkag.net running on it, a source which appears to have a history of serving up .asp based ads with malware/trojans etc.

Yeah my antivirus is going crazy on this web page now.. ( i previously have not had an antivirus for many years )

haha me too. Both OpenDNS and Chrome mark it as a malicious site which means it is being blocked by default on most people's computers now. Way to go guys.
Most of the issues were DNS related - the site had to jump servers 3 times this year and it resulted in the DNS problems.
It also caused the back end of the main site to fail so its very hard to post anything new (even if we had an editor)
And of course over the last few days weve had a rogue add with dodgy code. I think i have fixed that but have to wait a couple of days and then try and get the locks removed from the various blocking sites ......
Obviously the sites very quiet these days - But its history and i intend to keep it online for as long as i can.

And im so happy to hear that your keeping the site around ... i really dont know why but I like coming back here and just scavaging thru old threads from many many years ago sometimes ...
There was like a 3 year break when i was on and off deployment that i didnt really come at all .... but not everything can go our way.
I wish I was around for the downturn. Might make it easier to let go instead of just coming back and finding 10 'active' posters after leaving to tons of back and forth banter. It just cant click in my head.
I dont want to sound crazy or nothing. Im a perfectly normal person .... got a wife and a son, a car, a home, etc. But I also had a childhood and that childhood many times was within the computer coding of this website as I got to be me, and not the go to school, play football, do the wrestling team in the winter, go to some ****ty high school parties where the cops just come and break **** up .... go race on the highway and waste 250 bucks a weekend in my camaro ......
Well, im rambling ... so yeah ...
